Mastering is the last creative step in the audio production process, the bridge between mixing and distribution. It's the last opportunity to enhance sounds or repair problems.
Mastering puts the final touches on your song or album helping to create a record that sounds finished and playable on a wide variety of playback systems. A radio ready sound that is prepared for CD duplication/replication and commercial digital distribution on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Pandora etc. It is the final chance to make sure all songs fit cohesively together.
The goal is to correct mix balance issues and enhance particular sonic characteristics, all the while “sweetening” the mix. The process may include corrective equalization, dynamics processing such as compression and limiting to optimize loudness making sure the song levels and balance are consistent. Sometimes a mix might need additional warmth, presence, focus or clarity. This process requires a highly trained, and experienced engineer with an objective ear, state of the art equipment, and an acoustically tuned listening environment.
We love to master using a hybrid of both analog and digital processing. Analog for color and punch; Digital for precision. This hybrid approach has unlimited tone possibilities. A sterile digital recording will come to life in the right hands and with the right tools. Every artist has a unique vision for how their music should sound.
Collaboration is key!

Stem Mastering allows us more control to correct problems in the mix that might otherwise be impossible with a single stereo file. Stem mastering allows the engineer extra flexibility while mastering, allowing us to dig deeper into the mix and more finely adjust frequencies, punch, tone, width, depth, clarity, focus and levels of individual instrument groups. Stems are individually grouped components within a mix bounced to stereo such as bass, guitars, vocals, keys, drums, synths, brass section etc.. The sum of the stems should equal the full mix. Usually stems include effects and processing used in the mix.
For example tweaking the bass and drums independently of the rest of the arrangement can be very useful when mastering, especially given that the bottom end of a mix can be very tricky to get right in a project studio environment where the monitoring isn’t necessarily very accurate. The ability to EQ the bass instrument and bass drum individually in the mastering studio can solve all sorts of previously unseen problems and help you arrive at a wonderfully tight, deep and punchy bottom-end.
When choosing to master from stems you will need to submit multiple stereo .wav tracks of the consolidated instrument stems.
Our engineer can then work with each stem individually as needed. The stems are then summed to stereo and mastered.
Collaboration is key, tell us how you hear your vision.

Mixing is an art and a science. It is the process in which previously recorded musical performances in a multi-track recording are creatively and technically bounced to Stereo. Mixing finalizes the individual levels of instruments, equalization, effects, panning, dynamics and tone of each instrument and sound in an arrangement. I love to mix using a hybrid of both analog and digital processing. Analog for color and punch; Digital for precision. This hybrid approach has unlimited tone possibilities. A sterile digital recording will come to life in the right hands and with the right tools. Every artist has a unique vision for how their music should sound. Mixing is where it all comes together.
